Q. How does this work?
A. You send us your construction contract, and we will take a look and send it back to you with a “REPORT CARD”, letting you know where it shines, and where you may have some weaknesses that could be improved upon. If areas of risk/weakness are identified, we will give you information about how to make it stronger.
Q. I typically use a standard form contract for my projects. Is this for me?
A. We hear you. We would be happy to give you a REPORT CARD on your form of invoice that you issue for payment… invoices are another area where simple changes can make a big difference in how your interests are protected. Simple changes can save you big headaches!
Q. I’m pretty sure our contract is fine. Why would I want to do this?
A. That’s great! You may have a solid, time-tested template, but you may not have considered how covid, or recent market trends and changes in the law may impact it. We hope to provide you with some current information, so that you can make it even better.
Also, we are always surprised at how some amazing businesses have not received any, (or any recent) information about the contracts they are using. There are a few simple things that you can do to make any contract stronger and more protective of your rights- you may be surprised at how easy it can be to improve it!
Q. Will this cost me anything?
A. Nope. It is free legal information for you. Our goal is to provide you with some helpful information that you can use to assess whether your construction contract is advancing and protecting your business as it should, and whether it can be improved.
Q. Lawyers don’t give stuff away… why are you doing this?
A. First of all, if you believe that, you are not working with the right lawyer. Second, it makes our day to help our clients succeed and to go after their business goals armed with the most current, helpful and practical information. Third, if you are not a current client, we still wish you success and welcome the opportunity to allow you to get to know us better.
